White Teeth Straightening Braces

Straighten your teeth with our discreet white brace for a beautiful smile.

White ceramic braces are an attractive alternative to metal braces as they are much less noticeable. The brackets are a similar size and shape to metal brackets but are clear or tooth coloured and so blend in more. White ceramic braces are the best treatment option for patients with extreme irregularities that might not suitable for Invisalign (clear aligners) treatment. With white ceramic braces at Gosforth Dental Surgery, you can be sure of getting great results.

Clear or ceramic brackets are fitted to the front of your teeth. Flexible archwires are fitted into the brackets and slowly spread to a curved archform. This ‘elastic recoil’ gently pushes the teeth into proper alignment. The archwires are changed when needed throughout treatment. Additional forces can be created with clear elastic bands when required.

The benefits of white braces

  • This fixed brace system is far less obvious than metal braces. Even the wires can be coated to be tooth-coloured rather than just metal
  • White braces can fix more extreme irregularities of the teeth
  • The treatment times are just as quick as any other orthodontic option available
  • This is the most cost-effective fixed brace appliance available

White braces in steps

Firstly, we understand your aims from straightening the teeth and discuss all the suitable options with you. We then carry out a thorough examination. Your dentist at Gosforth Dental Surgery will talk you through the white tooth coloured braces tooth straightening system and discuss what’s right for you.

If you are found to be a suitable candidate then your treatment can begin. Your white brace will be custom-made according to the structure of your teeth, to provide optimum results for your dental situation.

Treatment begins when the brackets and wires are fitted. These will remain on your teeth for the entirety of the treatment. But, as the material used is so discreet, the white ceramic brace is a great alternative to other noticeable systems. Your brace is realigned and adjusted every 4-5 weeks, according to the movement of your teeth until they sit in the desired position.

Treatment is complete when we are satisfied with the position of your teeth and feel that no more work is needed to create your perfect smile. At Gosforth Dental Surgery, the treatment includes your retainers. Because teeth can move even after orthodontic treatment, retainers will make sure your teeth stay in their new position.

We have samples of different braces in our Newcastle dental practice, your dentist will show you the different types during your consultation.

Today, adults are becoming a larger segment undergoing braces treatment.

Although it is best to have braces as a child, it is never too late to get braces on. With better technology and availability of aesthetic / invisible braces at Gosforth Dental Surgery, it is relatively easy for an adult to wear braces without any compromises.

This is generally not a problem unless you are going to get your braces off soon. Although it is not an emergency, you should always contact our Newcastle dental practice before your next visit so your dentist can allow extra time to replace it.

For the first few days it will affect your speech and you may salivate more, like with any orthodontic treatment but after the first 7-10 days everything should be back to normal.
