Nicola Parten

Nicola enjoys working at Gosforth Dental Surgery and takes pride in providing high quality treatment for her patients. These treatments include advanced restorative and cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign, oral surgery and treatment for anxious patients with and without sedation. She is able to accept referrals for sedation and oral surgery.

Originally from the North East Nicola graduated from Newcastle University in 2016 with Merit in both clinical and academic dentistry. Since graduating she has worked in general practice, Newcastle Dental Hospital and on the Maxilllofacial Unit within the RVI. This has provided her with a breadth of experience in many disciplines within the dental field in particular Oral Surgery. She became an associate clinical lecturer at Newcastle University teaching oral surgery skills to dental students.

Nicola has invested considerable time in further education and training. Further qualifications include MFDS from Royal College of Surgeons Glasgow, Diploma in Conscious Sedation with Merit and a Post Graduate Certificate in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry. She is currently undertaking post graduate training in Implant placement with The British Academy of Implant and Restorative Dentistry. In addition her academic ventures have led to multiple publications and presenting her work at both a national and international level.

Outside of practice she plays an active role within the dental profession and has been the secretary of the British Dental Association Northern Counties Branch since 2019. This helps to provide a network for dentists in the area in addition to delivering educational events to young and experienced dentists within the North East.

Nicola enjoys spending her free time with family and friends. Especially her new daughter. She enjoys travel and adventure, beginning the new rollercoaster of parenthood has been her biggest adventure yet!
